In-Studio with Lisa Velthouse

Have you ever wondered what’s on the other side of the radio? How about what goes on behind the scenes in publishing a book? Yesterday I got to spend the day with Lisa Velthouse and her husband Nathan when they stopped by Chicago for a visit. Lisa’s memoir, Craving Grace, just released at the beginning of this month and she’s been busy promoting it. The work for authors doesn’t stop once your book is published–you have to work to make people aware of it and to hopefully buy it too.

One of the ways authors promote their books, particularly non-fiction authors, is through interviews. So yesterday after a brief visit to Tyndale, Lisa, Nathan and I headed down to the Moody Radio studio in Chicago. This is the home of all the national Moody radio programs and the original Moody station. I set up an in-studio interview for Lisa on Chris Fabry Live! Some people may not realize it, but Chris actually works from his home studio in Arizona. So while Lisa was doing the interview from the studio, she couldn’t actually see Chris while she was talking with him. Here’s an inside look from during the show:

Pre-show--Lisa's talking with Chris before the show begins.

Great reminder on the wall for all the hosts and guests.

Lisa sharing her story from "Craving Grace" with listeners nationwide

Lisa responds to callers as they share their own stories of failure.

If you missed Lisa’s interview, you can still listen to it here. You can also follow Lisa on Twitter and Facebook for more updates on what she’s doing and on Craving Grace. Be sure to get your own copy of the book to learn more about Lisa’s story and how she discovered the sweetness of God’s grace after failing in keeping her promise to God.
